Subsidized Chechnya boasts of unprecedented luxury.
"24 Rolls-Royces, three more on the way. Two traffic police cars. Akhmat is truly a force to be reckoned with. If it weren’t for Akhmat, there wouldn’t be these Rolls-Royces. He’s the king of Grozny."
Nothing out of the ordinary. It’s just a wedding in Grozny, the capital of Chechnya, one of Russia’s most heavily subsidized regions. The wedding is taking place at a favorite restaurant of the Kadyrov family, and the cars have license plates belonging to prominent members of the Chechen leader’s clan.
