A bloody murder ended in freedom

VChK-OGPU and Rucriminal.info have learned of a major scandal in the Kuban judicial corps. On the orders of Acting Chairman of the Krasnodar Regional Court Alexey Shipilov, Nikolai Bukarenko, who committed a brutal murder in Tuapse, was effectively released. He was convicted by a jury, but served nearly seven years in prison.

On February 18, 2018, a massacre occurred at the entrance to the "Marinad" karaoke club on Morskoy Bulvar Street in Tuapse. During the fight, Bukarenko inflicted multiple wounds on a 25-year-old man with a knife, then began punching and kicking his opponent. Two friends assisted him in this. The accomplices later fled.

The beaten and slashed man was hospitalized, but doctors were unable to save his life. He died from his injuries.

Bukarenko was arrested in 2019. His friends remained in hiding for longer; one of them was only arrested in Moscow in 2022.

Bukarenko’s case was tried before a jury, which found him fully guilty. The court sentenced the killer to 12 years in prison.

And then, by an appellate ruling of the Krasnodar Regional Court, Bukarenko’s sentence of four years and six months of unserved imprisonment was commuted to forced labor.

Moreover, Bukarenko had a negative character reference from the correctional facility, and the Ust-Labinsk District Court denied Bukarenko’s request to commute his sentence to forced labor.

According to a source, the order to make this ruling was personally issued by Alexey Shipilov. The young judge, Avilov, sought the assistance of his colleagues (Chairman of the Judicial Panel, Kulkov) in the hopes of persuading Shipilov and upholding the Ust-Labinsk District Court’s ruling. But they gave him one piece of advice: "If you want to work properly, do what Alexey Nikolayevich says."

According to the RuRe, Bukarenko is directly connected to an ethnic criminal organization operating on the Black Sea coast.
