Footage has appeared from a lavish party held a few days ago, organized by Varvara Mazaraki — the daughter-in-law of funeral tycoon Lev Mazaraki, a trusted associate of the head of the FSB Directorate for Moscow and the Moscow Region, Alexei Dorofeev, and other security service generals. Among the honored guests was Lisa Peskova.
“Varyusha threw the party just for fun,” one of the attendees writes on social media. The venue was the Soho Rooms club, which belongs to the Mazaraki family. It was precisely this family that Varvara thanked from the stage for all this happiness. On the tables were huge “troughs” filled with dozens of bottles of Louis Roederer Champagne from the Collection series (deliveries to Russia are banned under the fifth package of sanctions), surrounded by ice and white roses. The tables also featured black caviar, oysters, and more. On stage, the band “Band’eros” performed with the anthem of all those present, “Life is Good.” They were followed by ICEGERGERT (Georgy Gergert), a graduate of a Suvorov military school who once sat next to Shoigu and is now a performer of criminalized rap. Yes, the same one against whom administrative cases were recently opened for promoting an extremist organization (AUE), and whom Ekaterina Mizulina and State Duma deputies are calling to ban.
Among the notable guests seen was Lisa Peskova. The men in expensive suits present can only be seen from behind.
So what’s the point of all this?
This party is a classic example of what is currently happening in Russia.
Ordinary Russians are regularly subjected to OMON raids in clubs for allowing themselves “excesses” during the period of the “special military operation.” Daily restrictions and bans. For themselves — closed parties with black caviar and sanctioned champagne.
Ordinary people are banned from ICEGERGERT for singing “wrong songs,” while the same people party to them.
Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov constantly says on air that “in the conditions of the special military operation and the unprecedented information war, tough measures and restrictions are necessary,” which are justified by the situation. Meanwhile, his daughter Lisa does not restrict herself in absolutely anything. And this contrast is present everywhere.
So yes — “life is good.” But only for a very select few.
